Ah, the summer months; the months where school is out, and the weather is warm! With the summer being the time of year most people are off, most of us have more time to spend with our families. While most people take a ‘summer vacation’, sometimes taking a vacation can be costly, especially if people try to do a trip to Disney. If you have an annual pass to the parks that’s different, but to those of us who cannot make a trip to Disney every year, we must come up with some different ideas to get our ‘Disney-Fix’ on! So, what do we do exactly then? Well, there are many activates available to us to get that Disney-Fix we need all without breaking the bank! So, without further ado, here are a few Disney-Inspired activities you can do with family and friends this summer!
One of the cool things you can do that won’t necessarily break the bank is taking a tour of the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California! The tours are only available for members of D23 (the official Disney Fanclub), however, getting a membership is not at all hard to do. You can easily purchase either the Gold or Gold Family D23 membership at d23.com. Gold memberships allow you and one guest to go to events while Gold Family allows you and up to three guests admission to events. In addition to getting access to wonderful events, you get a bi-monthly issue of Disney Twenty-Three; a free annual membership gift; discounts; and so much more! D23 hosts tours of the Walt Disney Studios at different times of the year, but they most always have a tour happening around the summer months! If going to the Studios has been a bucket-list item, maybe you can check it off this summer!
If you love history and Walt Disney himself, you may want to visit The Walt Disney Family Museum located in San Francisco, CA! At the Walt Disney Family Museum, you can: “find animation, innovation, and inspiration in the remarkable life story of Walt Disney, the man who raised animation to an art, tirelessly pursued innovation, and created a distinctly American legacy that transformed the entertainment world. One thing you can easily do this summer that doesn’t involve breaking the bank or traveling quite far is hosting a Disney-Inspired party at your house! Some ideas could be doing a Disney costume party, a Disney movie marathon, or maybe even a Disney-themed pool party! Whatever it is you do, parties are fun and are a great way to spend time with people whom you love and care about! Hosting a party doesn’t even have to be this extravagant thing. It could be as simple as putting up a few decorations and inviting a few people over. Something so simple can end up being extravagant!
The Disneyland Resort out in Anaheim, California is home to three different hotels while the Walt Disney World Resort out in Orlando, FL is home to well over 20 different hotels and resorts! If you are closer towards visiting the Disneyland Resort out in Anaheim, there are many things you can do. For example, you can explore the amazing beauty that the resort entails; grab a nice drink at the Disneyland Hotel at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar; do some shopping at Disney’s Fantasia Shop; grab a bite to eat at Steakhouse 55 or maybe even do all four! Over at the Walt Disney World Resort, you can easily do just the same and so much more! Some examples include exploring the Polynesian Village Resort in all its splendor; grabbing a nice cocktail or even ‘mocktail’ at Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace; doing some shopping at Moana Mercantile; sitting down for a nice dinner at ‘Ohana or maybe even indulging in all of the above? No matter which resort you choose to visit, you are sure to find and have an amazing time! Maybe spending some time at a nice restaurant with the family to celebrate a special occasion is the perfect thing you need to do this summer!
The last thing on our list we recommend doing this summer is taking a trip down to either Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort or Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort! Both places have many amazing eateries, live entertainment and even tons of things to shop for! They both have anything and everything you need to have the perfect night out with friends! Even if you don’t go out to eat there, do any shopping, or even grab a drink, just walking around with friends chatting and perhaps even doing a little window shopping is a great way to bypass time and a great activity you can enjoy if you are looking for something to do this summer!
